Low Poly Character Design

I really wanted to design a character and snake for the low poly environment. Using the original sketch I had drawn up I came to a final design.

I'm really happy with this character design. It matches every aesthetic I've been aiming for so far. He is wise looking and likeable. The art style is low poly and still has the links to rayman. The lack of body will make it really easy to animate. The animation wouldn't have to be that good as the low poly style would suit any kind of animation. 

His wooden staff emotes a sense of wisdom which helps enforce the dream like, peaceful atmosphere I want to create. 

I've also looked at creating a fairy character....


I'm not that happy with this design as is but it could be used for a pick-up like I had explained earlier in the blog. The art style keeps to the aesthetic and the general shapes seen are quite trippy.

I also spent AGES working on this snake asset as it's something I've been wanting to create for a while.
